Basic Job Functions:
The role of a Lab Technician consists of, but is not limited to, being responsible for the chemical analysis of steel samples taken routinely from EAF, LMF, AOD, and Caster on every heat along with occasional samples from the Hot Mill, Cold Mill, Scrap Yard and customer plant. This position will calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment, including spectrometers and combustion analyzers. Must be able to work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays.
