Our client in New Jersey is a well-established and rapidly growing software company seeking a software manager for their Monmouth County location to lead software engineers in this Agile Scrum environment. Most of the software is written in C language and runs on Linux. This position is open due to promotion and expansion.
The selected individual will lead and manage software engineers, programmers, and a couple of QA engineers. They will provide technical coaching, performance feedback, and leadership to improve processes and take part in design and code reviews. The individual must be able to interview, hire new engineers, and build a team.
To qualify for this position, you will have several years of software development experience and a few years in technical and program management in a product company. Extensive experience with C (or other language) programming in an Agile development environment is also required.
Required/Desired skills and experience:
BS or MS in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent experience
Strong skills in C programming and development on Linux platforms
Extensive knowledge of data structures and algorithms
Experience with Python
Familiarity with Microsoft development environments is a plus
Experience with any of the following is a plus: data backup, data storage; pthread; security; ransomware; embedded systems development with C; parallel, distributed, or complex system programming project experience; machine learning; writing software that manipulates data at the bit and byte level.
Work Setting:
Hybrid position which requires the person hired to be onsite 3 days a week at our customer's location in Holmdel, NJ.
Compensation: • Base Salary: $170,000 - 180,000 base salary DOE, plus an excellent benefits package. • Bonus: $10,000 • Stock Option Generous
