Chesterfield County Government is seeking an Automation Coordinator to Lead Utilities' automation staff, direct work and assign projects; in conjunction with IST staff, maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), server maintenance and backups, application development and PC applications, purchase and deploy hardware and software. Provide oversight and management of the department's systems and technology projects. Performs related work as required. Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment. Perform other work as required. PLEASE NOTE: Position open until filled (first review to begin December 2, 2024.)
Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; five years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of concepts of microcomputer technology and related software; of principles of office automation systems. Ability to analyze complex business problems for potential automation solutions; to manage complex automation projects; to document processes and procedures and develop user documentation; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise technical and non-technical staff. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
