The Community Forestry Volunteer/Partnership Coordinator delivers technical, educational, and financial community forestry assistance to local governments, communities, and volunteer-based organizations. The Coordinator extends external partnerships, leverages program support, and diversifies stakeholder and citizen involvement in North Dakota's Community Forestry Programs. This position works statewide and is expected to travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Plan, implement, and evaluate resource management alternatives
Build productive relationships and work cooperatively with others across or within boundaries
Communicate concisely and professionally with multiple audiences with various interests and opinions
Engage in respectful/professional deliberation and discussion
Enter, organize, maintain, and summarize data using computer applications including GIS
Work and solve problems in teams or individually
Understand and respond to, manage, resolve, or prevent conflict at many scales
Familiar with practical realities of tree care and opportunities in rural communities
Pursue formal and informal learning opportunities in support of professional and personal growth
Able to work outdoors without direct supervision, travel alone, stay overnight and work in semi-remote work areas
Knowledge of community forestry, forest management, arboriculture, natural resources management, university extension or related fields
Preferred Qualifications
BS Forestry, Urban Forestry or similar with three years experience
Recent related work experience
Experience working with volunteers, community officials, partner organizations, diverse groups
Experience planning and organizing tree planting or conservation events, meetings and workshops
International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist
