Overview
Overview Insmed is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented lab manager to support day-to-day operations at the New Hampshire Research Development Labs. Responsibilities may include purchasing, contract coordination, receipt of goods, sourcing specialized reagents and materials, general vendor interface, preparation of reagents, coordination of safety, equipment maintenance, scientific support for experiments, and other activities as needed.

Onboard and interface with vendors, including coordinating vendor onboarding, CDAs, MTAs, etc.
Order and stock general lab supplies. Receive items ordered for the lab.
Manage liquid nitrogen and gas supplies.
Maintain chemical inventory as part of the chemical receiving process and coordinate periodic physical inventory.
Maintain equipment, certifications, and service contracts. Report fixed asset disposals to finance.
Support scientists with purchasing and setting up new equipment.
Support building & equipment repairs - work with Facilities Director, Property Manager and vendors as required.
Coordinate hazardous waste pick-ups and autoclave and dispose of biological waste per facilities guidelines.
As a member of Insmed Safety Committee, ensure a safe working environment and adherence to safety policies.
Coordinate materials shipping to other Insmed sites and 3rd party labs.
Manage software licenses with support of purchasing and IT department.
Other organizational and operational activities as called upon from time to time.
Experimental contribution in the laboratory, as needed, supporting current and future programs, including but not limited to cell biology, immunology, virology, and molecular biology.
Qualifications
Minimum BS and 10+ years of experience in a laboratory environment.
Experience with Dartmouth EHS (BioRAFT) and facilities systems is strongly preferred
Lab management experience strongly preferred. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Experience with Oracle, Jaggaer, Concur, and similar procurement and contract systems preferred. Willingness and ability to quickly learn Insmed procurement and contract systems required.
This position requires a hands-on individual with strong experience multitasking among numerous high priority activities. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate must be highly organized and task-driven with a proven record and attention to detail.
Experience with cell biology / molecular biology / immunology preferred, as this role also will also support scientists experimentally as-needed due to the dynamic nature of the position.
