SUMMARY

You will interpret and apply trade compliance regulations while supporting the business's operational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advises and supports the business on import and export compliance matters (export license determination), compliance with Foreign Trade Regulation (FTR) Automated Export Systems (AES) filing requirements and troubleshooting ad hoc trade-related issues for both internal and external customers), while maintaining adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assists with import and export compliance reviews and identifies opportunities for continuous process improvements. Updates policies, procedures, and trade compliance manual.
  • Reviews restricted party screening “hits” and provides direction to the business.
  • Records appropriate trade data as relates to Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), United States Munitions List (USML), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and country of origin (COO) in internal systems.
  • Supports annual solicitation for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and/or other preference programs.
  • Generates reports from an Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and provides data to business units.
  • Manages recordkeeping process, including storage of export-controlled technical data.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of in-depth knowledge related to export regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • In-depth working knowledge of international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, FTR, and U.S. Customs regulations.

  • Working with ACE reporting capabilities and preparing data in a presentable format.

  • Experience using a restricted party screening system.

  • Prior entry writer experience.

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist preferred.
