Day-To-Day:
Assists in managing house operations, including purchasing and maintaining food and household supplies as specified by individual and program requirements.
Ensures that food and all supply purchasing is maintained within budgetary guidelines.
Monitors the comfort and safety of individuals served while ensuring living environments and program activities are in compliance with consumer principles and organization policies and procedures.
Assists in interviewing and hiring staff.
Provides coverage as needed to ensure adequate staff ratios.
Performs the duties of Direct Support Professional personnel when no other is available to perform the duties.
Manages petty cash for the residential facilities and the consumers as needed.
Prepares requests for consumer's money if VOATX manages his/her funds.
Prepares financial requests for petty cash, shopping, and maintenance needs; reconciles all expenses and submits receipts according to agency policy.
Completes preventive maintenance reports as scheduled for facilities and vehicles, including monthly fire drills, vehicle reports and pest control statements.
Arranges repairs and maintenance for equipment, appliances and vehicles by contacting appropriate personnel and following through to ensure completion.
Assists in training, supervision and evaluation of direct care personnel.
Advocates for the consumer's inclusion in community life and ensures participation in recreation and leisure activities.
Advocates for individual consumer's rights.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with consumers, co-workers, families and other agencies.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus one year directly related, transferable experience or training with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Valid Texas Drivers' License.
