The Molecular Imaging and Radiotheranostics (MIRA) laboratory is hiring a research specialist to work on projects investigating the tumor radiobiology and immunomodulation of radiopharmaceutical theranostic agents. This individual will lead the design and execution of studies looking at the phenotypic and genomic effects of different radiopharmaceuticals on cancer cells to identify mechanisms of sensitivity or resistance, leading to a more effective single agent or combination therapies.
Job duties:
The Molecular Imaging and Radiotheranostics (MIRA) laboratory focuses on developing radiopharmaceuticals for imaging and therapy with a focus on tumor microenvironment modulation. Within this topic, the selected candidate will work on projects investigating the tumor radiobiology and immunomodulation of radiopharmaceutical theranostic agents. This individual will lead the design and execution of studies looking at the phenotypic and genomic effects of different radiopharmaceuticals on cancer cells to identify mechanisms of sensitivity or resistance, leading to a more effective single agent or combination therapies. The selected candidate is expected to perform and analyze in vitro radiobiological assays such as clonogenic and survival assays, comet assays, RNA sequencing, western blot, histology, gene transfections, and microscopy in cells treated with either beta minus or alpha-emitting radiopharmaceuticals. The candidate will receive further training in radiochemistry, animal handling, small animal imaging, and radiotoxicology. Additionally, this position offers unparalleled access to opportunities for professional development in areas related to mentoring and scientific communication.
