As part of the Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Section in the Department of Psychiatry, The Brain Behavior Lab (BBL) at Penn Medicine and the Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Penn Medicine are devoted to the study of brain-behavior relations using, 1) innovative neuroimaging techniques, and 2) the application of cutting-edge psychometric and bioinformatics resources. These tools are applied in multiple fields, including medicine, spaceflight research and law. The Brain Behavior Integration Coordinator C will provide support to the Director of the Brain Behavior Laboratory for managing and coordinating across projects.

Brain Behavior Integration Coordinator C
We are seeking a full-time Brain Behavior Integration Coordinator C to join our team immediately. This position offers a highly interdisciplinary research experience, combining approaches from cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, psychiatry, and statistics with neuroimaging. The applicant will have the opportunity to participate in major methodological and analytic developments, publications, and presentations.
Responsibilities will include supporting the BBL Director in coordinating complex interdisciplinary research that involves the execution of behavioral and neuroimaging studies in projects supported by grants from NIH and NASA as well as coordinating the activities of the NeuroForensic Evaluation Service (NFES). Specific duties will include:
1. Maintaining and updating a database of grants, projects, and associated milestones and deadlines.
2. Assist in preparation of reports, manuscripts and grant applications.
3. Assist the Director in scheduling appointments and (when resumed) travel.
4. For NFES, handle the correspondence and billing as well as access the Section's image processing, data analysis and report preparation pipelines.
Other duties might include: performing data management functions like extracting, importing, and exporting data from various in-house applications; restructuring and merging datasets; assisting with user documentation; running queries on datasets using SQL; resolving data inconsistencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The optimal candidate has a Master's or higher degree from an accredited university and at least 5 years of experience in research coordination. Applicants with a relevant major (psychology, computer science, biology, neuroscience) will be given preference. We are seeking an individual who is equally comfortable with numbers and with people, who is committed to science, and is able to handle complex data and algorithms but also interact with a diverse staff and consumers that include people from other disciplines, industry and the law. As part of the work for the NFES, the individual will need to adhere to strict procedures and be willing to testify in court if called to. Individuals interested in a career combining research with forensics could be especially well-suited for the position.
