Financial Services Litigation Associate at Locke Lord in San Francisco, California

Job Description:

We are seeking qualified candidates for an Associate position in the Financial Services Litigation Practice Group, to be based in our San Francisco office. The Ideal candidate will be an entry level associate with strong legal writing and research skills; clerkship experience preferred.



Essential Functions:

• Provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.
  
  


• Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis in pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents.
  
  


• Draft pleadings and argue motions.
  
  


• Conduct discovery (including taking depositions).
  
  


• Provide input in crafting strategies for Litigation matters.
  
  


• Complete tasks efficiently.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  
  


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  
  


• Strong organization and matter management skills.
  
  


• Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
  
  


• Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed.
  
  


• Familiarity with and ability to prepare basic litigation documents.
  
  


• Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices.
  
  


• Clear and effective drafting skills.
  
  

The expected base salary range for California based candidates in this position is $225,000 - $230,000. Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's class year, years of experience, skills, qualifications, office location and anticipated annual billable hour targets.



Requirements



Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in California.
