The material control manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and reviewing all activities related to production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to satisfy customer requirements and business unit objectives. This role is responsible for maintaining on time shipments of all customer orders, maintaining daily schedules for all operations, maintaining an accurate inventory, and coordinating all activities related to product flow through the manufacturing cycle. This position will be on site in Johnstown, PA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and targets.
Balance labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput.
Examine all aspects of the scheduling process to improve production processes wherever possible.
Create fabrication and assembly work orders.
Maintain weekly past due order data and status.
Monitor sales order reserved inventory and suggest optimization of on-hand inventory for customer order fulfillment.
Lead annual physical inventory and cycle count process.
Manage bill of materials and routings.
Work as a team member and collaborate cross functionally and with customers and vendors.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, operations management, or related field.
APICS certification a plus.
Work Experience:
5 or more years of experience in materials management, production planning, logistics, and inventory control.
