Primary role would be to interface with the user base; providing friendly and courteous service; while assisting them with their day to day technical issues. A primary requirement is the ability to learn quickly while on the job.
General description of services and duties:
Primary support would be for common desktop support questions. Desktop operating systems would include Windows, MacOS and future possibility of Linux Desktops.
General Desktop Support: Including hardware setup, Operating System and Software Installation, Machine deployment to end users (both onsite and remote). Other desktop support examples would be: Replacing hardware (mice, keyboards, video cards, network cards), malware removal, Software installation; etc.
First Tier End User / Help Desk Support: Support of end user questions and problems. Examples include assistance with application software. Helping users transfer email between accounts. Diagnosing software/hardware configuration or operational issues on desktops (examples of this would include: Monitor failure; hard drive failure and replacement; Outlook not able to connect to mail server; unable to print; etc.). This includes support of both onsite and offsite users. Offsite users would be supported via phone, chat and/or remote desktop access to their remote machines.
Basic End User Phone Support: Deploying new phones to users; setting up conference calls; helping users log their extension into their phones, etc.
Video Conference Assistance: Helping end users log in and use the Video conferencing systems; including changing inputs on displays for laptop driven presentations; and more.
Datacenter Work: Basic Datacenter operation assistance. Includes tasks like racking servers, changing network cables, replaced disk drives and cold re-booting servers.
Additional skills or knowledge base that would be useful:
Familiarity with Office 365
Familiarity with any Jamf for MacOS support.
Familiarity with Windows PowerShell
Familiarity with Linux/Mac command line tools.
