Job Description:
As a Data Intern, you'll play a vital role in our data-driven initiatives. You'll work closely with our analytics team to collect, process, and analyze baseball data, and contribute to the development of innovative data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering: Collect and process data from Trackman and other baseball data sources using Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL
Data Analysis: Utilize Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and R for exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing
Machine Learning: Develop and implement machine learning models using Python (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) to predict player performance, optimize game strategies, and identify trends
Data Visualization: Create insightful visualizations using Python (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) and R (ggplot2) to communicate findings to stakeholders
Cloud Technologies: Work with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform or AWS to manage and scale data pipelines and machine learning models
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Strong understanding of machine learning and AI concepts
Experience with R is a plus
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) is beneficial
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective communication and teamwork skills
