Join our team as a Data Center Technician III, where you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of our data center. This hands-on position requires expertise across telecommunications, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Work Week Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (subject to change based on business needs)
Shift: Swing 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Operations and Maintenance
Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormalities in facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, communications, and life safety systems.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency.
Oversee systems such as chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and fire suppression systems.
Coordinate and supervise contractors for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.
Telecommunications and Infrastructure
Manage telecommunications systems, including fiber and copper cabling installations, terminations, and testing.
Build and maintain customer infrastructure, such as cages, cabinets, and overhead installations.
Perform rack-and-stack operations and infrastructure projects for both internal and customer needs.
Ensure proper labeling and tracking of equipment and circuit paths.
Customer Service and Support
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing work orders and service tickets promptly.
Provide remote hands support and assist with customer cage and cabinet build-outs.
Manage building service requests and escalate incidents as needed.
Process Improvement and Compliance
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Adhere to industry best practices, including NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and company standards.
Maintain detailed logs, reports, and documentation for all activities, incidents, and maintenance tasks.
Emergency Response
Act as a first responder to system issues, managing incidents and providing follow-up reports.
Monitor fire life safety systems, including wet and pre-action sprinkler systems.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Technical Expertise
Proven understanding of data center systems, including electrical (UPS, switchgear), mechanical (chillers, HVAC), and telecommunications (fiber optics, cabling).
Experience with industrial safety standards (lockout/tagout, arc flash protection).
Knowledge of BMS, PLC controls, and critical monitoring systems.
Operational Skills
Expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing IT hardware, structured cabling, and network equipment.
Proficiency in industry tools, including hand tools, multimeters, and infrared cameras.
Strong technical writing skills for documenting procedures and reports.
Leadership and Communication
Proven leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and supervise contractors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging customers and internal teams.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-demand environment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
Minimum of 2 years of experience with large-scale commercial or industrial systems.
Familiarity with CMMS systems and data trending/analysis.

Compensation: $40-45/hr
