The Cloud Enterprise Architect is a senior-level role responsible for designing and implementing scalable cloud strategy, architecture and solutions that align with overall Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Inc. business objectives and IT strategy. This position involves designing and guiding the implementation of complex cloud-based solutions across the enterprise, ensuring that all cloud initiatives are integrated, scalable and secure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

Compensation
$127,000 - $145,000
Exempt grade IT&S 18
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. What you'll do
Design and develop cloud architecture frameworks that support business goals and optimize resource utilization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current infrastructure and identify opportunities for migration to cloud-based solutions.
Establish cloud governance and best practices to ensure security, compliance, and efficiency.
Evaluate and recommend cloud service providers, tools, and technologies that align with business needs.
Develop roadmaps for cloud adoption, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during implementation and integration phases.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform cloud strategy and drive continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to articulate the value of cloud solutions and address concerns.
What you need
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field preferred.
5 years experience in IT architecture, with at least 3 years focused on cloud technologies.
Bonus if you have
Relevant cloud certification preferred (i.e., AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.)
Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
