General Summary
Under the direct supervision and guidance of Supervisor Crisis Services, the Mobile Crisis Aide position is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and clinical care is extended to any community member contacting LifeWays or requiring intervention in the community. The focus of the Mobile Crisis Aide position is to support and mentor consumers to achieve crisis resolution, community inclusion, a greater level of independence and productivity, and promote and encourage recovery and resiliency in both their mental and physical health.
Essential Functions
Assists team members in providing trauma sensitive and recovery focused crisis interventions both onsite and within the community.Interacts with consumers, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations (i.e., change in physical and/or mental conditions; behavioral changes) to clinical staff.Monitors and observes the environment for potential unusual, emergent and/or dangerous situations.Assists consumers with linking to community resources and entitlements while facilitating and supporting the consumer in completing requirements to access these. Coordinates with Network Benefits Specialist staff, as necessary.Provides support for inpatient placement efforts for consumers. Works collaboratively with Crisis Team staff, provider network staff, hospital staff, and natural supports to find appropriate placements.Conducts satisfaction/follow up surveys as required.Provides crisis transport services, as needed.Assists with Engagement Team program, as assigned.Assists with skill/support groups, as needed.Performs administrative support such as filing, typing reports, copying, faxing, etc., as needed as well as to support team functions, as assigned.Maintains regular and predictable attendance.Provides Crisis Residential Unit assistance, as needed.Must be able to safely perform all aspects of the Safety Care crisis intervention model, which includes therapeutic de-escalation skills, as well as therapeutic holds.

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Knowledge
Knowledge of Michigans community mental health (CMH) system; minimum of three years experience working with CMH populations.Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, stress reduction and chronic conditions, with certification from an accredited professional wellness coach training program, preferred.Knowledge of credentialing status to perform duties within their scope.Knowledge and understanding of all regulations, contract requirements, standards applicable to performance of duties.Working knowledge of resources, including but not limited to: Diagnostic Criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), Medicaid Provider Manual, LifeWays Provider Manual, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), International Classification of Diseases (ICD), LifeWays Policies and Procedures, LifeWays Provider Newsletters/Communication, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Physicians Desk Reference (PDR), and departmental processes.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (consumers, professionals, community members).Skill in concurrent/collaborative documentation of services.Excellent time management skills in a setting with potential frequent interruptions; ability to coordinate multiple concurrent duties and perform tasks in an organized and timely manner, with attention to detail.Experience with basic data analytics and proficiency/intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and other relatable software (Power BI, etc.); and internet applications, including Electronic Medical Record. Ability to navigate LifeWays Intranet.

Required Education/Certification/Licensure
High School Diploma or equivalent.Safety Care Non-violent Crisis Intervention training, upon hire.Mental Health First Aid Training, upon hire.CPR, AED, and First Aid Training, upon hire.Must possess a valid U.S motor vehicle operators license, and successfully complete motor vehicle record check.
Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure
Associates degree in related human service field.Community Mental Health Worker Certification.
