CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimatorsand safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a dedicated and experienced Resident Engineer to perform and/or oversee contract administration, construction management and inspection operations on-site on facilities/building construction projects. Responsibilities include:


  • Perform and oversee all contract administration, construction management and inspection operations.
  • Manage and mentor Michael Baker's, subconsultants' and third-party construction inspection project staff.
  • Ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with approved construction documents and permits.
  • Verify that construction projects achieve overall quality standards and scheduled completion deadlines.
  • Assist and support client with construction project cost control, including evaluating change orders.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in a construction or engineering related field desired and 7+ years of related construction inspection experience.
  • NJDOT, NJTA, or other major transportation agency project experience performing inspection of highway construction, electrical and/or structural components (bridges, retaining walls, sign structures), including earthwork, concrete and/or asphalt paving construction, drainage, water quality basins and utility construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • OSHA 10 hr certification or ability to obtain.
  • Excellent English language skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) etc.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $98,000 - $155,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
