KEY RESPONSIBILIITES
The Executive Vice President (EVP) reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serves as an integral member of the senior management team. This executive provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
Business Development
•Leads all potential business expansion (additional counties, states) activities.
•Generates new business opportunities through market research and analysis.
•Represents the company in all M&A transactions.
People
•Evaluates the effectiveness of the company working closely with the management team.
•Leads all recruiting, development of talent and coordination of contracted services.
•Ensures appropriate internal/external communication.
•Guarantees that Skilled Home Health and Home Care divisions are run in accordance with the agency's policies and in tandem with the organization's personnel policies and procedures.
•Develops and maintains good working relationships with other staff, community health, welfare and social agencies and reaches out to the community to maintain existing resources and develop new ones to meet patient and family needs.
•Coordinates the public relations and marketing programs.
Policy
•Demonstrates a working knowledge of Medicare Home Health regulations, Conditions of Participation, licensure laws and regulations. Maintains appropriate licenses and certifications. Familiar with reviewing legal documents/contracts.
•Oversees development of short and long-range goals and keeps the Board of Directors apprised through reports (both verbal and written) on program development and operations.
•Manages all financial and people components of the company.
•Ensures the development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to the oversight of all direct care services, contracts, supplies and equipment, and maintenance of standards relative to accreditation and licensure for Home Health.
•Guarantees that Skilled Home Health and Home Care regulations are upheld as required by federal and state laws, accrediting bodies, and third-party reimbursement guidelines.
Financial
•Oversees all financial operations.
•Responsible for the preparation of both the capital and operating annual budgets and annual report/compliance.
•Presents to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
•15+ years of relevant executive level leadership experience in a medical, healthcare or business setting. Experience in home-based services preferred.
•Knowledge of profit and loss, contracts, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
•An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding operational, sales and marketing skills.
•Advanced relationship sales experience and sales management skills, with a demonstrated customer focus.
•Very strong negotiation skills, analytical skills, strategic thinking, and decision-making ability.
•Works with the Board to promote compliance and corporate governance throughout the organization.
