Job Description Summary
This position performs a variety of technical support functions for the Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture Division.
Flexible: 20-40 hours per week to suit your schedule.
This is a limited term position with a duration through 5/30/2025.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Handle, process and distribute materials and supplies
Assist and/or prepare equipment and lab activities related to instructional needs.
Prepare various types of materials for instructors and students.
Logistics
Receive, and unload materials and, supplies utilizing lift truck
Travel to companies to pick and drop off equipment loaned, leased, or donated items for programs.
Assist with receiving, installing, and preparing new equipment and removing replaced equipment in conjunction with the FVTC Manager - Manufacturing Agriculture & Construction, FVTC maintenance personnel and outside contractors.
Procurement
Monitor inventories of consumables, supplies and equipment as needed within the division, and communicate with purchaser to assure availability.
Communicate with Vendor Managed Inventory staff to insure proper stocking of supplies and deliveries.
Evaluate equipment and make recommendations as to repair or replacement.
Interact with outside vendors and assist in collecting data/materials for price quotes.
Maintenance, repair, and installation
Perform periodic maintenance on a wide variety of division and partner owned equipment, according to documented procedures, and maintain associated records in maintenance software.
Troubleshoot and make repairs to a wide variety of industrial and laboratory equipment utilizing electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain records of annual Safety Inspections on program related equipment and college related equipment according to industry, college, or governmental standards.
Maintain SDS records in online database and organize hazardous materials.
Organization and Division Projects
Support other Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture Division technical personnel.
Actively collaborate with division staff on initiatives for improvements related to organization, setup, standardization, and processes.
Design, build or repair parts, components, or assemblies with modern methods in a craftsmanship like manner using a wide variety of equipment, layout tools, blueprints, and fabrication techniques for division and external customers.
Support Manufacturing, Agriculture and Construction Technologies Division in the development of systems involved with new initiatives.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Practice and promote safe working habits to staff and students including the utilization of automation safety equipment such as light curtains, switches, and scanners.
Operate school owned vehicles.
Ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for students and staff by scheduling work with Facilities Department to correct electrical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and plumbing problems as they arise.
Set up and take down furnishings and equipment for functions/meetings per customer requests.
Perform building security functions for the college including opening and securing buildings, labs, shops, and offices.
Assist students and staff in lab environment in a non-instructional capacity.
Assists with career days, open house, tours, youth camps, and other College marketing efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree or Technical Diploma, AND
2 years of related work experience in the field, OR
An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
Valid Wisconsin driver's license, a CDL Class A or B is preferred.
Subject to FVTC's Motor Vehicle Records Check.
Beneficial training to have. Will provide in house training if needed
Hold or willingness to obtain and maintain OSHA 10 certification
Hold or willingness to obtain and maintain OSHA Tow motor/Fork-lift certification
Hold or willingness to obtain and maintain electrical hazard training
Hold or willingness to obtain and maintain fall protection training
Hold or willingness to obtain and maintain NFPA 70e arc flash protection

Ability to work with and learn Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
Ability to perform daily travel and work at a variety of FVTC facilities located in but not limited to Appleton, Oshkosh, Wautoma, Waupaca, Clintonville and Chilton along with varying worksites.
Flexibility in work schedule is provided and required.
Work in an organized, clean, and professional manner.

Additional Information
Starting Pay: $24.53 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data. Note: Internal applicants' wages will be based on the applicable compensation guideline.
