Job Description:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer is responsible for understanding all quality and manufacturing processes. In addition, this position supports APQP launches and leads team towards zero defect conformance. The incumbent in this position will support and maintain all customer quality requirements (PPAP, CAR, PPM, CSR, etc.) The following is a more detailed list of responsibilities for the Quality Engineer:

QMS/LPA, conduct internal audits and handle the ISO9001 3rd party certification audit

Maintain/improve Quality Management system through internal audits, process audits, EN management and supervision of element champions

Monitor customer portals and analysis of returns

Support all plant efforts to reduce CONQ (error proofing, destructive costs, issue management, etc.)

Support efforts in development of new suppliers and maintaining/improving current supply base (process audits, improvements plans, Rec. Insp Plan, etc.)

Support all initiatives, direct and indirect, towards meeting plant AOP targets

Improve internal quality performance in manufacturing

Develop quality schemes to monitor process quality and drive continual improvement

Maintain and updated IMDS submissions as part of PPAP process.

Handle customer containment and daily customer communication with corrective actions

Quality representative for Staff meetings

Direct reports for calibration and final inspection

Job Specific Knowledge and Skills

Strong problem resolution skills

Ability to multi-task several programs and operate independently with little direction

Strong communication skills and ability to lead multifunctional teams

Customer warranty review and analysis

Self motivated and driven to excel in quality assurance initiatives

MS Office skills

Education/Work Experience

Bachelor's Degree in science or other related field and/or CQE certification

Minimum of five years Quality experience in an automotive supplier/manufacturing environment

Minimum of three years Quality supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

Experience implementing ISO and IATF systems

Six Sigma black belt (CSSBB) or green belt (CSSGB) background a plus
