Purpose: Love teenagers (6-12th Grade) and lead them into a fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ.
Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Responsibilities: • Curriculum: Develop and schedule a curriculum suitable for teaching Christian principles and life responsibilities. • Outreach and Parental Relationships: Develop relationships with students, parents, and families to support and encourage their involvement in the community and spiritual journey. Promote an outreach ministry that motivates students to connect with other youth. Coordinate visits to active, inactive, and prospective young individuals and their families. • Weekly Meetings: Plan for youth activities every Sunday and Wednesday. Provide leadership and recruit volunteers as needed. • Community and Mission Activities: Organize opportunities for faith-based mission and ministry services throughout the year to involve young people in ministering to others within the community. • Quarterly Events: Plan special events such as retreats and trips throughout the year. • Training: Attend workshops and personal growth conferences to stay informed on new
and effective ways to implement youth ministry. • Planning and Budgeting: Plan and submit a budget request to cover the financial needs of youth ministries to the Leadership Team on a timely basis for consideration in the church budget. Monitor all expenses incurred in the operation of the program. • Visitation: Call on youth and their families in pastoral-need situations such as sickness,
hospitalization, crisis intervention, death and other situations in which youth
and their families may need help or support. Make referrals for further intervention as
needed. • Work Schedule: Maintain regular office hours with the agreement of the supervisor for study, planning activities and for office visits. Make office hours known to congregation and youth. Be flexible for other office hours as needed by appointment.
Requirements:
Education: College degree preferred.
Experience: Working with youth in a religious environment.
