$20.05 - $26.55 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
An entry level lab position where the technician will be mentored and taught all aspects of the lab process to enable them to perform effectively and efficiently to meet client needs for fluid sample results and data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure current procedures and process controls are followed on a daily basis.
Receive, log, and prepare fluid samples.
Ensure test tubes are racked in proper order corresponding to sample log.
Test samples for contamination, soot, oxidation, nitration and sulfur products.
Analyze large particles found in oil.
Dilute samples.
Perform constant temp viscosity tests.
Learn and understand ISO standards as they relate to the lab and assist as needed with ISO certification.
Maintain and ensure that all housekeeping and contamination control procedures implemented are followed.
Actively participate and aid others in projects assigned.
Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advise team leader on low material stock levels.
Prepare and ship sampling materials and supplies to customers and/or vendors.
Maintain customer data, files, and reports utilizing computer systems.
Maintain a current training list and work with leader to accomplish training requirements, wants/needs.
Work within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of instrumentation and data processing procedures and ability to keep equipment updated to the latest standards.
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to learn, retain and implement information.
Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Prior fluids lab experience preferred.
Prior experience in the equipment industry preferred but not required.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
