Manufacturing Engineer
Leading manufacturer of pre-pressurized diaphragm expansion tanks for water well, water pressure boosting, reverse-osmosis, heating, and thermal applications.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment that makes both steel and composite products. This is a hands-on position that will involve all phases of engineering from concept to implementation as well as in depth troubleshooting on existing production lines and providing solutions to both manufacturing and maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Investigates causes of mechanical failures on manufacturing equipment, machinery, tools, and parts. Recommends and implements corrective measures.
• Observes operating conditions of equipment and machines where excessive breakage and defects in products occur. Recommends and implements corrective measures.
• Works to improve manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
• Communicates with operations manager and maintenance department on daily machine issues.
• Assists in activities of mechanical and electrical maintenance when engineering support is needed.
• Acts as technology resource for operations.
• Reviews technical papers, catalogs and other reference materials and confers with equipment salesmen to select and recommend new technology and methods to improve plant operations.
• Executes building/equipment capital projects and provides timely updates, including group presentations.
• Provides training and guidance to machine operators and maintenance in proper operation of equipment.
• Supports environmental and safety initiatives and tracks/reports data to regulating bodies.
• May, as assigned, perform other related duties.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical or manufacturing preferred)
• Experience working as an Engineer (5-7 years preferred)
• Experience with use of Solid Works, project management, and Lean principles and tools
• Understanding of automation, machine integration, welding, plastics, and high-volume production
• Understanding of compressed air systems, chillers, and hydraulics
• Hands-on mechanical experience, building / retrofitting of machinery / trouble shooting / repairs
