Act as the Engineering Team Leader to the Thermal Engineering team to provide a conceptual modular infrastructure with critical thermal and control equipment.
Oversee the post-sales Engineering team and taking over a project from the pre-sales team and managing the technical project execution from initial design through production and delivery to the customer.
Lead the Engineering team to create designs which meet or exceed Vertiv's quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.
Coordinate the Thermal Engineering efforts with all Engineering disciplines including Structural, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Detection and Suppression and BMS/Controls with a team that consists of any combination of Vertiv and third party Engineers.
Work with other Vertiv business units and preferred third party equipment suppliers for appropriate selection of equipment meeting customer and project requirements.
Interact with the customer and their Engineering teams to coordinate the Vertiv design with the customer's requirements and expectations as well as their permitting agent when needed to support the customer's permitting efforts.
Interact with the customer's General Contractor (GC) to coordinate all site work.
Supervise and coordinate contracted engineering companies in regards to HVAC Engineering and factory shop drawing development.
Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
Support of onsite project operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.
Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, mechanical systems audits and startup as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
6+ years of engineering and management experience with strong leadership skills
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Solidworks, etc.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Experience reading, understanding and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
Understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Building Code, International Building Code, NFPA70 etc.
Understanding of critical data center equipment.
Ability to create and improve existing engineering plans, processes and procedures.
Proven problem solving skills and ability to offer creative, out of the box solutions to customers
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
