Directs patient safety activities in a supportive and collaborative environment from leaders in the Fargo market as well as from the enterprise Patient Safety Team. Opportunity for continuous learning. Participates in initiatives to take the market to zero preventable harm.
Job Summary
Develops and monitors appropriate indicators for risk management. Oversees and coordinates the risk management processes of Sanford Health. Oversees (or performs) the investigation of incidents/variances/or events of risk management involving patients, visitors, physicians or employees. Assists in the development of internal and external educational opportunities for medical staff, allied health, clinical and non-clinical staff addressing current risk management, root cause analysis, disclosure, and safety. Oversees (or performs) the investigation of incidents/variance/or events involving patients, visitors, physicians, or employees. Coordination and integration with other risk management and related functional services within the health system. Assists in the development and maintaining of systems for the identification, control, prevention, and correction of potential and actual clinical and facility related risks. Supervises the statistical trending and analysis of designated risk management data. Develops and analyzes statistical and qualitative reports on risk management trends and patterns, and effectively communicates this information to the appropriate audiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
Three years experience in hospital and/or clinic operations with experience in managing projects or developing programs is preferred. Extensive knowledge of Risk Management and Patient Relations programs.
Currently holds an unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license with the State Board of Nursing. American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) Barton Certificate is recommended.
