At Independent Medical Equipment, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our patients through the delivery, set-up, and repair of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). As a Rehab Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is delivered in optimal condition, while providing patient education and addressing any equipment issues. You'll serve as a key representative of the company, balancing technical expertise with a strong focus on customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and Set-Up: Efficiently deliver, set up, and pick up DME equipment and supplies for patients, ensuring timely and professional service.
Equipment Assembly and Modification: Assemble seating and mobility equipment, making necessary adjustments to meet patient needs, and prepare goods for delivery.
Service and Repairs: Respond to service calls and conduct repairs on complex rehab equipment both in the office and in the field. Maintain a proactive approach to ensure equipment is fully functional.
Client Coordination: Schedule delivery appointments with patients, coordinating closely with the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) to support fitting, adjustments, and modifications of rehab equipment.
Parts Management: Order necessary parts and conduct research with manufacturers to ensure accurate and timely replacement of complex rehab equipment components.
Inventory and Equipment Staging: Manage the inventory of rehab parts and maintain the client equipment staging area to ensure seamless operations.
Collaboration with ATPs: Attend seating clinics with ATPs to assist with evaluations, modifications, and deliveries, providing client-specific details for optimal equipment adjustments.
Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain an Automobile Log for company vehicles, reporting any maintenance needs and scheduling repairs as required.
Required Experience:
3-5 Years of Experience: In a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or rehab technician role, with a focus on complex rehab equipment assembly and repair.
Technical Knowledge: Proven understanding of rehab and mobility equipment, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently.
Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach to customer service.
Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, including managing parts inventory and scheduling service calls.
