JOB TITLE: Environmental, Safety, & Health (ESH) Technician
REPORTS TO: Risk/ESH Manager and Regional ESH Supervisor (directly) and Project Manager (at job-sites)
Summary of position: Responsible for all aspects of Safety and Environmental requirements required for International Marine and Industrial Applicators, LLC (IMIA) during the accomplishment of work.
Essential Job Requirements: Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with customer, company, state, and federal safety and environmental policies and regulations. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
Required Education: High School graduate and capable of taking written verbal direction. Ability to read and write with understanding. Minimum computer experience required to include Microsoft Office suite products and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to communicate orally in an effective manner.
Required Experience: Formal or informal on the job training and 2-years’ experience in the Marine Coating Industry or Maritime Safety Industry. Must have thorough knowledge of federal and State local regulations within the marine industry. Entry level position, under the guidance of a more senior ESH Technician must demonstrate the ability to quickly and accurately absorb and retain the information and experience imparted.
Required Skills: Must be able to read and interpret documents relevant to customer, company, local, state and federal safety & environmental regulations as necessary; such as contract specifications, safety & environmental rules and regulations, procedures, etc. Must be able to work cooperatively and productively with other employees and facility owner/customer personnel. Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl; occasionally required to sit; required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to feel, grip, or handle; regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, or more infrequently; required use of vision to see up close, distance, and peripherally, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus; required to enter production areas which include use of respirators, confined space entry, and working from heights.

Working Conditions: Most work performed will be onboard a ship, in a dry dock or shipyard under fast-paced conditions; frequently requiring overtime. Consistent exposure to outdoor elements, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals and dusty conditions.
