Visits customer facility to evaluate current processes and new requirements.
Acquire and analyze customer needs and problems, making recommendations to the engineering team to satisfy those needs and develop effective solutions.
Reviews and demonstrates understanding of customer specifications and objective of the project.
Applies knowledge of standard manufacturing processes to achieve effective & efficient designs incorporating the latest in technologies.
Prepares various drawings/models with CAD to facilitate concept and solution development.
Designs and develops creative concepts that meet customer’s requirements while reducing complexity.
Accurately budget labor hours, materials, and third-party components to successfully build the equipment.
Writes accurate proposals and presents them to the customer in a professional manner.
Reviews proposals with customer for questions, concerns, or changes.
Collaborates on projects with engineering, sales, and project management, ensuring quotes are developed in accordance with customer specifications, budget, and timing requirements.
Leads project kickoff/handoff meetings and supports project execution as needed to ensure intended scope is maintained and projects are both profitable and effective for the intended use of the customer.
Reviews completed project material cost and labor performance to optimize cost estimates of future opportunities.
Travels as required to customer sites, domestically and internationally.
Attend mining trade shows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Engineering, preference for mechanical discipline.
5 years’ experience within the Mining industry
Extensive experience in all the aspects of industrial automation and equipment assembly.
Knowledge of copper mineral processing segments, particularly SXEW and Refining.
Knowledge of fluids, fluid hydraulics, skids and pumps as related to mine sites.
Understand use of motion, sensors, controls, hydraulic & pneumatic power, servos, cycle time etc. as they relate to automation.
Effective quotation skills.
Must be able to travel on average 15% of the time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
