This position serves as the Public Safety Complex technology liaison. Work involves designing, configuring, managing and administering systems within a wide area network of file and application servers, enterprise applications, switches, routers, including authentication and security systems to assure proper security and performance. This includes performing systems recovery and determining the cause of failure in support of multiple video walls, sound systems, and presentation systems. Crestron experience is a plus. Other activities include research, designing, documenting, and modifying system specifications. During emergency activations (typically for major storms or other disaster events), this position will serve on the technology team to support the Emergency Operations Center, typically in 12-hour (sometimes longer) shifts for the duration of the activation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Strategy & Planning
As a project team member, collaborate with with IT management in conceptualizing and development of new infrastructure and systems. Analyze and assess existing infrastructure systems and procedures under direction of their supervisor or other Systems staff for complex processes. As a team member, assist in defining, developing, and documenting complex infrastructure requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments. Assist in defining and managing infrastructure implementation project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation. Research, identify, and analyze requirements of all internal and external program users under direction of the supervisor.
Responsible for most aspects of systems management and administration for one or more server infrastructures to assure proper file server security and performance. Specifically: Microsoft, Linux, and VMWare and/or Visualization system.
Monitors, analyzes, and coordinates priorities and objectives for the Systems Team staff to assure top network file server system performance. Maintains/updates county network to comply with industry standards. Modifies system parameters and provides system level problem determination and resolution services for anomalies in data network hardware and software components. Manages, assigns, and modifies file server passwords. Loads system software and applies relevant updates, hotfixes and patches for system performance and security. Develops, reviews and/or updates procedures relating to user services and network integrity. Assure network security for Linux, Microsoft and Novell Servers. Creates and modifies databases, reports and forms from information in a number of different types of databases for systems support. Monitors database health, and performs systems analysis and recovery. Generates reports for users, modifies screen layouts and login scripts. Completes, tests, and documents projects. Provides secondary support for remaining server infrastructure systems.
Primary responsibility for systems application support and maintenance for one or more applications. Specifically: Email, Storage Area Networks, Backup Recovery Systems, Mobile device management, Computer Systems management, and virtualized systems. Emergency Medical Systems technologies, Visualization system technologies, or Emergency Operations Center technologies.
Installs and configures the software, and provides the documentation for the procedures to utilize them. Performs systems recovery and determines the cause of failure and documents findings. Coordinates modifications and enhancements of all system components with users, assuring proper notification of planned system outages.
Participates in problem management by providing system level problem determination and resolution services for anomalies in data network hardware and software components. Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and/or software necessary to ensure current network/distributed system performance. Answers technical/operational questions to solve software, hardware and/or network related problems at the user level.
Provides secondary support to remaining systems applications.
Provides telecommunications support.
Coordinates with the Network Team to plan, design, and implement future telecommunication system modifications with the appropriate hardware and/or software to meet network and user needs. Maintains current knowledge of telecommunications systems (hardware and software), modification and improvements and makes recommendations in these areas pertaining to impacts with Linux, Microsoft and Novell Servers.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMER CONTACT Considerable internal customer contact that involves restoring operations and access to computer systems or files.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS USED Personal computer, word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software; specialized software; fax machine; scientific calculator and a vehicle are examples of equipment and tools used.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is mainly performed indoors. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, and sitting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and one year of related technical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "E" operator's license and have a favorable driving record.
Achievement of one or more of the following certifications is preferred: Microsoft network operating system administration; Microsoft Certified Network Engineer; Cisco Certified Network Administrator or Network Professional or Network Expert; and Avaya Certification.
