We are seeking a Meter Data Administrator to support the System Metering Department.
Strong computer and analytical skills, as well as an understanding of networking principles are a must.
The ideal candidate will have utility experience, preferably with MV90.
Overview of role:
Configures maintains, and supports the NISC MDM, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (Sensus AMI), MV90 infrastructure, Power Track, and other information systems to ensure its reliable, safe, and secure operation. Maintain the Metering software applications by following NOVEC policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides technical and informational support for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (Sensus AMI) for data collection, load management data processing, and outage notification for the Outage Management System (OMS).
Designs configures, and maintains the NISC MDM, Sensus AMI, and MV90 infrastructure by NOVEC policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Documents tasks to demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards such as infrastructure changes, compliance assessments, testing of significant changes, system configurations, access reviews, and equipment disposal.
Provides technical and informational resources and solutions to customers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other areas of the company.
Responsible for procedures and practices related to the physical and cyber security of the NISC MDM, Sensus AMI, and MV90 systems.
Programs and maintains the NISC MDM, Sensus AMI, and MV90 Systems to communicate with field equipment including IEDs, RTUs, and meters.
Manages the processing of data for NOVEC's Power Supply and Customer Information System (CIS) using the AMI System, MV90 System, CIS System, and Power Track.
Maintains and supports NISC MDM, databases, delivery point meters, and metering software. Assists with managing NOVEC's relationship with key hardware and software vendors.
Ensures communications and coordination with Business Development and Forecasting to implement Power Purchasing Program.
Responsible for Department functions and roles related to NISC MDM, Sensus AMI, and MV90 Systems.
Coordinates Sensus AMI and MV90 infrastructure and display activities with NOVEC's Electric Operations staff.
Administer, troubleshoot, and support communication infrastructure for Sensus and MV90 systems.
Responsible for the administration and technical support of the NISC MDM, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (Sensus AMI), MV90 infrastructure, Power Track, and other information systems. Participate in performance management, goal setting, and training to enhance the knowledge of the internal staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
A degree in a related field (i.e. Business, IT or Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance) relevant to the application used or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
One to two years of related experience and/or training are required.
Experience with MV90 is highly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong computer and networking skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, virtualization, access control/authorization, security event monitoring, and configuration management software.
Demonstrated proficiency with administrating, programming, and troubleshooting real-time systems and displays.
Demonstrated knowledge of Power System Operations concepts, processes, and procedures.
Basic understanding of NERC CIP standards.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with people having varying technical skill levels.
Ability to manage projects and time effectively to meet strict deadlines. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with little to no supervision.
