Project Manager

Location: Annapolis, MD

Length: Perm

Salary: $180-195K

Annul Bonus: Open for negotiation

Interview:
  1. Virtual with Director of Ops and Chief of Staff
  2. Final onsite- Will meet the customer.


Scope of work: 600+ total building on the campus (classrooms, training facilities, dormitories housing 4,000 students). Public works, roadway, transportation services, grounds, etc.
  • Utilities plant (50 people)- wastewater plant, central heating plant
  • Facilities maintenance- Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Fire suppression
  • Work control- Data for the materials and labor costs for the work orders (thousands per year)
  • Small projects - Estimating and renovation work ($10M budget for this work)
  • Special events- Graduations, football games, other on campus events

  1. People Management - Experienced in making decisions and directly managing a team.
  2. Client Ownership - Takes full responsibility for client needs and consistently delivers results.

  4. Financial Acumen - Skilled in reading and interpreting P&L and income statements.
  5. Work Management - Strong data analysis skills


Manages Operations and Maintenance (O&M), repair, minor construction and sustainment contract for the United States Naval Academy. Responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, positive employee engagement, while ensuring timely, safe and profitable contract performance.
  • Responsible for effectively managing and leading a team of union contract employees comprised of various Tradespersons, Administrators and Supervisors to deliver contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for developing work schedules for employee's while maintaining compliance with current and future collective bargaining agreements.
  • Responsible for various Human Resource duties to include but not limited to payroll, hiring, terminations, employee recognition and discipline, performance reviews, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of all required Government and Company training, certifications and personnel development.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all required Government and Company reports/deliverables.
  • Responsible for negotiation and coordination of all required subcontractor and vendor services while ensuring compliance with scope of work, safety, environmental and quality control.
  • Responsible for ensuring procurement of all parts, supplies and materials required for contractual compliance and operational fulfillment while meeting company and government small business utilization requirements.
  • Responsible for effective inventory management and control of Government and Company furnished parts, tools, keys, uniforms, equipment and furnishings.
  • Responsible for budgetary control by monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring adherence to allocated funds.

Must haves:
  • Must have bachelor's degree (engineering is desired, but management with specialized experience is acceptable) from an accredited university.
  • Must possess a minimum of ten years of specialized experience in public works or base operations support.
  • Must have at least five years of experience in managing a workforce providing services on contracts of similar size, scope and complexity.
  • Must obtain OSHA 10/30-hour safety course certification within 90 days of hire or have current certification.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of various codes and standards applicable to the O&M tasks covered by the Performance Work Statement, federal, state, local, and base regulations.
  • Requires skills and abilities to foster cohesive teamwork and partnership between the various military, government and contractor personnel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Role may require varying work schedule.

Plusses:
  • Prior Military experience. Navy preferred.
  • Civil engineering or USACE background.
  • Experience overseeing facilities operations on a university campus.
  • Prior management experience within a manufacturing background. Specifically within work control and data centric operations.
  • PMP certification
  • Professional Engineer certification
