The company are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Norwalk, OH. In this role, you will support the daily operations of the production value stream. You will work alongside senior engineers to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product flow, reduce downtime, investigate root causes, and drive cost-saving initiatives, among other responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Support operations and contribute to new product and process development.
Assist in designing facility layouts for equipment relocation and additions using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Participate in time studies to support continuous improvement efforts.
Initiate and implement change orders through the change order management system.
Develop and update process and material specifications as needed.
Coordinate operator training for both new and existing processes, products, and equipment.
Collaborate with external resources, such as vendors and sister sites, to resolve technical issues and enhance processes or products.
Write capital expenditure requests, secure approvals, oversee equipment purchase and installation, and track associated costs.
Validate equipment and processes when implementing process improvements.
Serve as a contributing team member on PRP/NPD projects.
Support equipment and process validation, including IQ, OQ, PQ.
Assist with capacity planning, cost improvement initiatives, and facilities layout for equipment moves or additions.
Work with suppliers and other sites to address technical challenges and improve processes or products.
Evaluate process capabilities and prioritize opportunities for process improvements, then implement innovative solutions.
Participate in cross-functional project teams.
Review engineering prints for new and existing products.
Ensure adherence to GWI's, GSOP, and M P's to maintain control of product and process design.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
5-8 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical and machining background.
Proficiency in LEAN and Six Sigma tools.
Ability to work effectively and lead cross-functional teams.
Strong technical writing skills.
Experience with risk management documentation.
Knowledge of fixtures and tooling.
Familiarity with CAD and SolidWorks.
