The Department of Medical Education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Medicine invites applications to fill an open rank educator position. This is a full-time, non-tenure track salaried faculty position with a comprehensive benefits package and an initial 3-year appointment that is renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree with a background in microbiology, virology or cell biology and be eligible for a faculty appointment at the level of an Assistant, Associate or full Professor.
Primary responsibilities will include teaching didactic and small group learning exercises primarily in the disciplines of microbiology, virology and cell biology. Teaching experience in, or willingness to expand into, the discipline of biochemistry is required. Students are first- and second-year dental, medical and graduate students, at UTHSC.
Teaching experience in healthcare professional and graduate level courses is preferred but not required. The candidate should be an enthusiastic educator with demonstrated ability to work productively, collegially, and effectively within a faculty-team environment. This position includes opportunities to conduct scholarly activities related to educational programs.
