Seasonal Forklift/Order Picker Operator - 3rd at Lakeside Book Company in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description:

Rate of Pay : $19.50, plus $1.50/hr shift differential

Work Hours: 3rd Shift, Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm to 6:00am

Location : 5550 W 74th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268

As a Forklift Operator you will:

• Operate Forklift and Order Picker equipment, to move materials and finished products
• Scan containers to ensure system accuracy
• Inspect your forklift on a daily basis and service the batteries
• Process departmental paperwork
• Use a computer to utilize the internal company COMN system for job information
• Receive training to help advance your career

Required Skills :

• Must have pervious Order Picker equipment experience
• Must be comfortable with heights
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift or clamp truck through aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced
• Ability to stand for the entire duration of your shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
