Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Seattle, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist with the implementation of safety programs and support the overall safety culture at our steel mill. This role focuses on providing guidance, facilitating safety training, and ensuring adherence to basic OSHA, WISHA/DOSH, and company safety standards. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with teams across the facility to promote safe practices and a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support: Assist with implementing safety initiatives to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
Training Assistance: Deliver and support basic safety training sessions to employees and teams.
Audit Participation: Help conduct facility walkthroughs and basic safety audits to identify and address potential hazards.
Incident Reporting Support: Provide assistance in documenting incidents and near-misses and contribute to discussions about corrective actions.
Team Engagement: Collaborate with employees and supervisors to encourage safe behaviors and understanding of safety requirements.
Compliance Support: Ensure basic compliance with OSHA, WISHA/DOSH, and company standards through consistent monitoring and guidance.
Continuous Support: Assist with general improvement efforts for safety policies, materials, and procedures.
Pay range $80,000 - $95,000 annually, with an additional average ROA bonus & profit sharing
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to safety procedures.
Basic understanding of OSHA and other safety regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of teams.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize safety-related tasks.
Genuine interest in maintaining a safe work environment.
