Basic Job Functions:



The Roll Mill Operator is responsible for safely operating the mill which maintains a quality section and required tonnage output, as well as operate NYSII cranes and area mill equipment, such as the Reheat, BD, UR/E, sample inspection. The Operator must understand mill set up, pass schedules, product tracking, cut sheets and the operation of the QST machine in order to fulfill customer order specification. They will also assist in all other activities on the crew such as product changes, housekeeping, and down day repairs. The Operator will understand the QST machine and its' operations. The Roll Mill Operator must be able to work in extreme temperatures, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed and able to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Basic computer skills necessary to perform essential daily functions of the job
