We are looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to support construction management for the GBA Builders Government Services team. Project work would primarily be within the Midwest Region with occasional projects on either coast, so ideal candidate is willing to travel on a project-by-project basis. This superintendent will have the full support of the project manager while exercising autonomy in day-to-day operations. Successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
Provide coordination and supervision of design-build and bid-build projects
Collaboration with clients, design team and contractors for project success
Build/maintain jobsite culture of •Safety First•
Quality Control/Quality Assurance
Daily coordination and management of subcontractors and jobsite logistics
Collect, review and submit shop drawings, product data, test reports, etc.
Build/update construction schedule and •look ahead• schedules
Review estimates with operations team to ensure logistical/site considerations are included
Review project budgets with project management weekly /monthly
Complete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo journal of progress
Requirements:
Degree in construction management preferred.
A minimum of 7 years• experience in construction management/supervision.
Partnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clients.
MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
Proficient in MS Project
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
Self-motivation with good time management skills
Experience in the construction of Life Sciences/Manufacturing projects is preferred
Travel is required
