Position Summary The RoadSafe Woodridge, IL branch focuses on commercial and highway signage solutions. The Project Planner is tasked with overseeing the execution of specific projects from the contract award stage through to final payment. This role emphasizes the safe and efficient fabrication and installation of projects, adhering to the provided plans and specifications. The Project Planner will report directly to the Branch Manager and will engage with various stakeholders, including general contractors, architects, designers, project owners, public agencies, material vendors, other departmental divisions, and the general public. Sign industry experience is a plus. This position will be based in Woodridge, IL branch location. Essential Functions
Collaborate with the sales team on new customer projects.
Assist in project estimation and bid delivery to owners.
Participate in progress meetings attended by owners.
Acquire plans and specifications from contractors and owners.
Work with designers to create necessary shop drawings and submittals.
Procure and manage subcontractors for field surveys and nationwide installations.
Coordinate with local municipalities to ensure compliance with codes and secure necessary permits.
Submit production tickets for in-house sign manufacturing.
Initiate purchase orders with Accounts Payable for procured products and subcontractors.
Schedule material deliveries and installation crews.
Monitor project progress, manage costs against the budget, resolve issues, and obtain completion documentation and photos.
Initiate project invoicing and collaborate with Accounts Receivable staff.
Prepare and submit required project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranty letters.
Secure final payment and release of retained funds from the owner.

Education/Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination within the construction industry is required.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and understanding construction plans, specifications, and municipal codes is essential.
An individual with the requisite knowledge should take approximately 6 months to achieve full proficiency in the role.
Experience working with municipalities, private business owners, and governmental agencies is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is required.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
Physical Requirements
Includes standing, sitting, walking, climbing, carrying, talking, hearing, visual activities (both far and near), key punching, and driving.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., drive up to 100 miles, and sit or stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
Typical office and construction environmental conditions.
Some overnight travel may be necessary.
