Job Description:
The Information Systems Security Manager II (Avaya Lead) is responsible for managing and securing systems and networks in a telephony environment, with a focus on Avaya and CISCO technologies. This full-time, onsite position at Portsmouth and St. Julien's Creek Annex requires a professional with extensive experience in systems and network engineering, particularly in Avaya communications and telephony systems. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of relevant experience, including expertise in Avaya Communication Manager (CM), VoIP, and CISCO networking, with experience in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), routers, and switches. Navy C4I experience is a plus. The role requires an active SECRET clearance and up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the engineering and security of telephony systems, with a primary focus on Avaya Communication Manager (CM), including CM10 (preferred).
Oversee the administration of VoIP systems and CISCO network devices, including routers, switches, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
Ensure the secure and efficient operation of telephony and network systems, adhering to best practices and security protocols.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain secure communication systems.
Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, securing, and optimizing telephony and networking systems.
Ensure compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity standards and C4I requirements (preferred).
Maintain detailed documentation of network and telephony configurations, security protocols, and incident reports.
Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of telephony systems and security operations.
Travel up to 25% for site visits, project management, and technical assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in systems and network engineering, preferably in a telephony environment using Avaya.
Extensive experience with Avaya Communication Manager (CM), with CM10 experience a significant plus.
Strong knowledge of VoIP and CISCO networking, including experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), routers, and switches.
Navy C4I experience is a plus.
Active SECRET clearance is required.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
