About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer to lead the conversion of DataStage ETL processes to SSIS, transitioning from Oracle to SQL Server source and target systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ETL development, SQL Server, and experience with Epic (Clarity, Caboodle, RWB) to help optimize data flows and support analytics. This role involves hands-on development, quality assurance, metadata management, and strategic guidance to future-proof the ETL architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
ETL Development & Conversion:
Convert DataStage ETL jobs to SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) jobs as part of the Oracle to SQL Server migration.
Oversee complex ETL transformations in high-impact subject areas, including claims, member files, and payer data.
Ensure the new ETL architecture is scalable and adaptable for future business requirements.
Quality Assurance & Optimization:
Perform quality checks on new SQL Server processes, ensuring accuracy in analytics, data transformations, and ETL flows.
Identify and resolve any data discrepancies or inefficiencies in the ETL pipeline.
Metadata Management & Reporting:
Manage ETL-related metadata, enabling efficient querying for report dependencies and ETL job status.
Design queries to track and answer metadata-related questions, such as identifying reports relying on specific ETL tables or pinpointing jobs that can be retired.
Epic Data Model Expertise:
Work with Epic data models (Clarity, Caboodle, RWB) to support healthcare data management.
Integrate Epic systems into SQL Server processes, optimizing data usage for healthcare analytics.
Standards & Best Practices:
Review and update existing ETL standards as necessary to align with best practices and the latest technologies.
Organize and prioritize ETL tasks, monitor conversion progress, and ensure Oracle-to-SQL Server conversion processes follow established standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 hands-on experience with ETL tools such as DataStage and SSIS.
Strong SQL development skills with SQL Server; experience with Oracle is a plus.
Experience with Epic systems (Clarity, Caboodle, RWB) is essential.
Proficiency in metadata management, with the ability to create queries to assess ETL and reporting relationships.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
