What you'll do

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a key leader driving the strategic direction and execution of your product portfolio. You will work closely with executive leadership to shape the future of your category. Your role will involve setting the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your product lines, ensuring they meet market demands and align with Feit Electric's overall objectives. You will be responsible for identifying and solving the right problems, guiding the product lifecycle from concept to market, and ensuring that our products deliver exceptional value to customers and channel partners alike.

Key responsibilities

Create Products that End Users Love

  • User Insights: Lead the organization in understanding your category's end users at a deep level, ensuring that our product strategies are informed by their needs and pain points.
  • Technology Discovery: Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, guiding the integration of new technologies into our product offerings to solve user challenges effectively.
  • Market Insights: Continuously monitor competitors and market entrants, identifying opportunities for differentiation and confirming market demand.
  • Problem Identification: Accurately identify the most critical problems to solve, ensuring our product development efforts are focused on the highest impact areas.
  • Concept Ideation: Generate a high volume of innovative product concepts that align with user needs and business goals.
  • Prototyping & Experimentation: Rapidly test and validate concepts, ensuring they are compelling enough to drive customer adoption.

Be Strategic for Our Channel Partners

  • Category Partnership: Develop and execute a clear plan to position Feit Electric as a strategic partner for our channel partners within your category, driving mutual growth and success.
  • Product Launch: Communicate our product vision and plans effectively to the sales team and channel partners, ensuring alignment and enthusiasm. Launch products to meet our committed dates.
  • Merchandising & Packaging: Ensure that product packaging and merchandising resonate with our target end-users and meet the needs of our channel partners.
  • Partner Collaboration: Engage regularly with channel partners, incorporating their insights and needs into product and merchandising strategies.

Ensure Products Work for the Business

  • Product Vision: Develop and communicate a compelling product vision that aligns with Feit Electric's long-term strategy and differentiates us in the marketplace.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and quality, to ensure cohesive and successful product development.
  • Business Acumen & Financials: Own the financial performance of the product portfolio, including tracking, negotiating, and building a category that drives business success.
  • Manufacturing Partner Development: Establish and manage partnerships with manufacturing partners, ensuring product quality, cost efficiency, and reliable supply chains.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from inception to end-of-life, ensuring a healthy, profitable, and innovative product portfolio.

Senior Product Manager Standard Activities

  • Store Visits: Conduct at least one store visit per week to observe product placement, gather insights, and understand customer interactions.
  • Online Discovery: Spend time weekly researching competitors, technology advancements, imports, customer reviews, and customer service insights.
  • End User Interviews: Engage with end users weekly to gain firsthand insights into their needs and challenges.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales team weekly to ensure alignment on product positioning and market strategy.
  • Factory Partnerships: Maintain regular contact with manufacturing partners to ensure product quality and efficient production.
  • Product Introductions: Launching products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of product management experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful lighting, consumer electronics, or equivalent products.
  • Expertise: Deep experience in product management principles, with a proven track record of driving successful product strategies in lighting, consumer electronics, or a similar field of products. Solid understanding of the technology enabling your category.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams towards successful outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: Robust analytical capabilities, with a focus on market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards applicable to consumer electronics and lighting products is a plus.

Pay Data: Salary Range of $100,000.00 to $140,000.00 (exempt) annually based on experience.
