Victory Woodworks is hiring a Safety Administrator responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees while maintaining regulatory compliance. You will manage safety programs, conduct inspections, coordinate training, and oversee emergency preparedness efforts. Our Safety Administrator works closely with all departments to ensure a safe work environment by identifying hazards, addressing safety concerns, and adhering to OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards set by local, state, and federal authorities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations and ensure company compliance. Keep accurate records of safety compliance activities, including training certifications, inspection reports, and incident log.
Safety Training: Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hires and ongoing training for existing staff. Track and maintain records of all employee safety certifications and ensure timely renewals. Provide guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols
Safety Inspections and Observations: Conduct regular safety inspections using Procore's inspection tool and ensure corrective actions are taken. Manage safety observations from inspections, safety walkthroughs, and employee-reported concerns?.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain up-to-date and accessible emergency response plans. Conduct training on emergency procedures, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation plans. Ensure all safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, are properly maintained and accessible.
Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain thorough documentation of safety activities, including training records, incident reports, and safety committee meeting minutes. Prepare reports for management on safety performance and areas for improvement.
Safety Committee Support: Schedule and facilitate safety committee meetings. Prepare agendas, lead discussions on current safety issues, and encourage active participation. Implement safety improvements based on committee recommendations.
Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs and policies. Regularly review and update safety programs to ensure they meet current regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
First Aid and Medical Support: Oversee availability and readiness of first aid supplies and ensure that first aid and CPR-trained employees are available in all work areas. Coordinate medical treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses.
Environmental Compliance: Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Coordinate with external vendors for the safe removal of hazardous materials.
Building and Machine Maintenance: Coordinate with facility maintenance providers for repairs and upkeep of machines, tools, and facility infrastructure. Schedule routine inspections and servicing for machinery, to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Maintain accurate maintenance records.Monitor and address reported issues with building systems (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC). Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed during machine repairs or maintenance.
Permit and License Renewal: Ensure timely submission of permit applications and renewals to avoid operational delays and legal issues.
Office Administration: Assist with various tasks including office social events, office/shop maintenance and other items as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Safety Administrator or similar role
Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with safety management software
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during inspections
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to loud noises, dust, and chemicals
The Work Environment for this position requires regular on-site inspections and interaction with employees in various work environments, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and offices
