Tool Installation Project Manager Opportunity
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead our semiconductor tool installation projects. As a crucial member of our team, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of semiconductor tool installation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards, while at the same time minimizing factory down time.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the project including tool acquisition support as needed; tool refurbishment when required; tool shipping/logistics/customs clearance; permitting/government approval including but not limited to writing requisite process descriptions and performing water, chemical use, effluent, and exhaust calculations; facilities modification design and execution to ensure tool, manufacturing, and, including assurance of; rigging and tool move-in; tool installation; tool acceptance; tool/process qualification support; individual and cross vendor management (vendors for tool, shipping/logistics, facilities design and modification, refurbishment/upgrade, installation, and acceptance); and internal coordination to ensure project success and optimize on-going manufacturing and engineering support. In addition, PM will manage the removal of the existing tool to coincide with new-tool (construction, demolition, and rigging) schedules. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, technical expertise in semiconductor equipment, and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with aforementioned vendors to enable successful planning and execution of each project, including managing procurement processes and resolving any issues that arise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, IT, finance, and facility teams to integrate semiconductor tools into existing processes and facilities, ensuring smooth installation and startup.
Quality and Safety Assurance: Implement quality control and safety measures to ensure that semiconductor tool installations meet all technical specifications and performance requirements.
Facility Modification and Verification: Work closely with facility engineers and vendors to assess the current infrastructure and identify necessary modifications to accommodate the new tool. Verify that the facility's capacity, including electrical, chemical, gas, exhaust, plumbing, effluent and HVAC systems, is sufficient to support the installation. Oversee the implementation of facility modifications, including structural changes, utility connections, and cleanroom upgrades, and ensure all parties agree for said modifications and connections.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including management and customers.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure successful project execution.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all project documentation, including installation procedures, specifications, and compliance records, are accurately maintained and readily accessible.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Extensive tool customer-facing experience is needed. Previous project management experience in a teaming environment is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing semiconductor tool installation and facility projects in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Experience in the semiconductor industry/cleanroom environments is required.
Experience with large industrial, advanced technology, and/or high-tech projects is highly preferred.
Proficiency with MS Project or other Project Management software desired.
Strong technical understanding of semiconductor equipment and facilities and equipment integration.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion, meeting strict deadlines and budget constraints.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools, such as Scrum, or PMP certification.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
