The Project Manager works directly with customers and is responsible for all phases of project management. Details consist of providing manufacturing process planning and routing, creating material and subcontract purchase orders (PO's), contract review, direct customer/ vendor interaction and coordinating project/ production scheduling in a face paced heavy plate fabrication, machine, and assembly shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates and reviews material and subcontract PO's.
Manages and tracks project performance, manufacturing process planning / routing and contract review.
Works closely with plant operations team and vendors to develop production schedule, maintain cost parameters, quality and on time delivery requirements.
Plans, coordinates, implements and finalizes projects according to customer specifications and agreed upon deadlines within budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of related experience in a heavy fabrication and machining environment.
Combination of education and relevant work experience considered.
Strong ability to understand and interpret blue prints and engineering drawings.
Ability to communicate effectively to build and develop relationships with internal and external customers.
Highly organized and detail oriented with sense of urgency.
Adept at prioritizing multiple tasks/projects.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Works and Microsoft Office Suite.
Associates Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering.
Previous work experience as a CNC Machinist and /or Welder/Fitter in a medium to heavy fabrication environment.
