Coordinates all facets of the management of complex new construction projects to which he/she is assigned including training and mentoring of lower level Project Managers assigned as assistants. This includes, but is not limited to management of the planning, scheduling, estimating, negotiating, acquisition of materials, progress evaluation and reporting. The Project Manager is tasked with responsibility for each project execution such that a quality product is delivered on time and within the established budget.
Duties and responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. • ensure that the project is managed and completed on time, with emphasis on efficiency to achieve planned budget • provide guidance to ensure that a quality product is built to specification and regulatory requirements and that the contract is adhered to by all parties • negotiate with vendors and customers to optimize project profitability • assist in development of bid and change order estimates • ensures corporate business systems have been properly set up for project • conduct required project meetings, including build strategy, kick-off meetings, and project status meetings • serve as point of contact between customer, and sub-contractors • oversee preparation of labor & material tasks in accordance with company Standard Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS) • assist Planning & Scheduling with the development of Work Packages by assigning project charge codes as information is released to production • oversee project construction schedule • prepare, review and approve material requisitions; coordinate with Purchasing for timely issuing of Purchase Orders and procurement of materials • review and approve service invoices based on performance progress payments • update project status & progress • oversee development of required monthly project Estimate at Completion (EAC) report • develop and oversee sub-contract service agreements (electrical installation, joiner installation, painting sub-contractors, etc.) • coordinate subcontractor work schedules & scope w/ production • conduct project status meetings with all project stakeholders such as production, engineering and sub-contractors • advise and assist preparation and submit timely customer invoicing • oversee and implement change order process • maintain a list of lessons learned, and conduct post mortem at project completion • manage project files in accordance with Conrad standards • adhere to company QMS procedures and standards especially those established for Project Management • delegate work via assigned assistants in an effort to train but maintain overall project requirements

Education and/or Experience
The following are required for this position: • Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred • Minimum of 10 years related shipyard or project management experience • May have equivalent combination of education and experience
