Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager specializing in commercial construction to join our dynamic team. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:
  • Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor project timelines and milestones, updating schedules as necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Track and report on project progress, addressing potential delays or issues.
  • Assist in preparing regular status reports for stakeholders and upper management.

Financial Management:
  • Support the Project Manager in managing budgets, cost tracking, and procurement.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring alignment with project contracts and budgets.

On-Site Oversight:
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and address any issues.
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel to maintain safety standards and resolve day-to-day challenges.

Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as a point of contact for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of concerns.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in commercial projects.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and general office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: PMP, OSHA 30, or similar certifications are a plus.
