Our client specializes in the development and operation of renewable energy in Texas. Recognized as one of the major organizations in this sector, they want to grow their operations team via the appointment of a High Voltage Project Manager.
This is a key role for the company, which entails taking HV projects (covering transmission lines / t-lines and substations) from the pre-construction stage through to final commissioning and energization. In addition to the successful delivery of projects, a focus on P&L will be essential.
Responsibilities:
Lead HV t-line and substation projects across their entire life-cycle
Act as the main engineering and commercial expert for both internal and external stakeholders
Give input and direction to consultants and EPC firms, as well as engineers and sub-contract managers
Take part in substation and transmission line / t-line design reviews
Create and implement the project timelines, budgets, schedules, permitting, contingency and risk management plans
Manage the site-based construction works, including installation and commissioning activities
Requirements and Skills:
Experience as a HV Project Manager in the transmission and distribution (T&D) industry, covering transmission line, substation, renewable energy or energy infrastructure EPC projects
Engineering degree
Hold a Professional Engineering license - electrical / civil engineering
Background managing T&D schemes from inception to completion
Track record of successful HV project delivery encompassing both engineering and associated commercials
Skilled in contractor management and evaluation, estimates, contracts, project and construction reviews, KPIs and scheduling
Strong knowledge of substation and transmission line equipment
Understanding of critical path methods
Experience using MS Project and Primavera
PMP certification - advantageous
