The benefits coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for ESS employee-owners, assisting with benefit questions and enrollment via the benefits platform and providing general benefits assistance as needed. Provides benefits training and assistance to all Emery Sapp divisions, serving as the benefits liaison.
Responsibilities:
Assists all employee-owners with benefit-related questions, responding promptly and professionally to emails and phone calls. Monitors the ESS Benefits mailbox.
Ensures all HR Business Partners, as well as divisional HR teams, are trained in basic benefit processes and plans. Acts as primary liaison for all benefit questions, providing assistance as needed.
Provides technical support of the benefits administration platform, including running reports, updating document library and ensuring benefit changes such as new hire elections, EOI requests and life events are recorded accurately. May include tracking changes within the company's payroll system.
Assists with open enrollment at the divisional level, including answering questions, providing education, and tracking completion throughout the period. Additionally, assists with setup, processing and other related processes as needed.
Administers various leaves of absence, including FMLA, military, and personal for Emery Sapp & Sons, ensuring HR Business Partners and management are apprised as needed for purposes of job management.
Responds to retirement plan inquiries from employee-owners relating to enrollments, contribution amounts, and general plan questions, coordinating with the Benefits Analyst and Benefits Director as needed.
Implements National Medical Support Notices, including enrollment in required benefits, responding to court and vendor requests, and tracking through the benefits admin system.
Supports employee-owners with transition of benefits upon termination, death, or other separation from the company.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of labor law (specifically FMLA) and benefits, met by 1-3 years of professional work experience in Human Resources using an HRIS for payroll and HR functions.
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
Proficient with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and Google. Experience with Workday preferred.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
Strong verbal, math, and written communication skills
Ability to create strong working relationships with internal partners (payroll, finance, HR) as well as external partners, collaborating to create best in class practices and offerings.
Ability to adapt and interact well in a variety of diverse settings.
Ability to travel to various company locations as needed.
