Reporting to the Sr. Manufacturing Manager, the General Production Supervisor will focus on providing best-in-class customer service by managing the day-to-day operations of their manufacturing department(s), ensuring safety protocols are followed, production schedules are met, and quality standards are maintained. This role must be self-motivated with the ability to motivate a production team through clear communication. They must be able to drive accountability through setting clear expectations, maintaining consistency and ensuring timely follow-up. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The General Production Supervisor is responsible for identifying and resolving safety issues and being a positive champion of safety and our culture.
This role will start on the 3rd shift, 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM, with first preference to join the day shift if an opening is available.
Qualifications
Major Accountability
Directs operations of one or more departments to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and housekeeping goals are met.
Sets goals, drives accountability, and manages results for team members on a day-to-day basis.
Drives proactive problem-solving activities to ensure continuous improvement of department(s).
Ensures policies, practices, CBA, and procedures are understood and adhered to by direct reports.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Coordinates production activities and processes; ensures adequate human and material resources to maintain production schedules according to process specifications; oversees multi-processes and possibly over multiple shifts.
Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and clearly communicate them to employees.
Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
Timely and accurately maintain company records including but not limited to employee timekeeping, training, and coaching.
Anticipate short-term and long-term production needs and plan to meet them in conjunction with sales and scheduling efforts and make daily production decisions accordingly.
Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedure.
Identifies significant manpower and workflow bottlenecks and initiates corrective actions.
Achieve continuous improvement in quality, waste and productivity through utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
Supports adherence to company policies and procedures.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and ERP systems.
Detailed knowledge of Quality system requirements, Lean Principles and policies; Six Sigma Yellow Belt, or higher, preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills.
