Beverage Server 

Department: Beverage Operations  

Classification: Staff 

Exemption Status: Non-exempt 

Reports To: Beverage Operations  Supervisor 

Pay Grade: TBD 

Location: All GLC Properties  

Position Summary — The Cocktail Waitress is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to patrons on the casino floor, maintaining their own bank and cashing out each transaction on the floor. 

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 


  • Performs excellent customer service at all times. 


  • Provides fast, efficient, and courteous service. 


  • Collects payments from customers. 


  • Takes orders from patrons for food or beverages.  


  • Checks patrons’ ID to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption. 


  • Recognizes when a customer has had enough to drink. 


  • Checks with customers to ensure that they are enjoying themselves corrects any problems.  


  • Serves food or beverages to patrons. 


  • Prepares hot and cold drinks for patrons or orders alcoholic beverages from bar. 


  • Recommends certain dishes & explains how various items on the menu are prepared. 


  • Maintains a bank and cashes out each transaction on the floor. 


  • Stocks service areas with supplies and keeps areas clean. 


  • Answers patron’s questions, explains menu items and specials. 


  • Fills in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department by assisting co-workers, supervisor, or manager as requested. 

Qualifications   


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. or server  and cash handling experience required. 


  • Customer service experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  


  • Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes. 


  • Ability to work under pressure and to serve customers quickly and efficiently 


  • Ability to multitask and work as part of the team. 


  • Ability to communicate clearly’ ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and oral instructions.  


  • Ability yo interact effectively with the public and Team Members. 


  • Ability count back change accurately and efficiently. 

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age per gaming regulations. Required to obtain and maintain ABLE licensing. 

Physical Requirements — Position requires the ability to carry heavy trays of food, dishes and glassware, good balance, and the ability to stand or walk for entire shifts. 

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights. 

Special Working Conditions — This position requires the flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work under pressure.
